2025 School Ready: In-Home Learning Program
An exciting initiative for the Young Minds Thrive team and our local community!
We have developed an innovative in-home program based on the data collected from our 2024 School Screening Program and invaluable feedback from parents and teachers. This program is designed to prepare children for school while empowering parents with the knowledge and tools to support their child’s healthy development and early learning skills.
Together, we’re creating stronger foundations for success in school and beyond!
Child Hearing Screening Program
Early in our Empowering Futures: School Screening Program, we identified a significant concern: hearing loss in children starting school. Our initial findings revealed that 3 in 10 children showed signs of hearing loss, highlighting the urgent need for action.
In response, we launched the Empowering Futures: Child Hearing Screening Program, focusing on preschool children aged 4-6 years. Thanks to the generous support of partner organisations, we provided 288 funded outreach hearing assessments directly to local preschools and schools in 2024.
This initiative prioritises early identification and intervention, helping to protect children’s hearing, support their development, and ensure better school readiness and successful learning outcomes. Together, we’re creating brighter futures through accessible, community-focused care.
School Screening Program
The Empowering Futures: School Screening Program is a crucial initiative focused on identifying and addressing young children's developmental delays, early learning challenges, and school readiness skills.
In 2024, we conducted 210 comprehensive assessments, made possible through the generous support of schools and community partners. The results revealed that 2 in 3 children required ongoing support, with 40% eligible for Early Intervention services to address developmental delays and build foundational school readiness skills.
This program underscores the critical need for early identification and targeted support, ensuring every child is equipped for a successful transition to school and lifelong learning success.
